Utah offers online registration

To register to vote online in Utah, you must:

  • Have a valid driver's license or identification card for the state of Utah
  • Have a valid address with the Utah DMV
  • Have been a resident of Utah for at least 30 days before election day
  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be at least 18 years of age on election day
  • Not be currently imprisoned for having been convicted of a felony

Your completed voter registration form must contain your state issued driver's license number or nonoperating identification number. If you do not have a driver's license or nonoperating identification, you must include the last four digits of your social security number. If you do not have a driver's license or a nonoperating identification or a social security number, please write "NONE" on the form. A unique identifying number will be assigned by the State.

Additional Information

Declaring a party is not required in order to register to vote. However, Utah's election law allows each political party to choose whom it will allow to vote in its primary election. If you do not affiliate with a party, you may be restricted from voting in the primary.

Utah does not ask you to include your race or ethnicity in order to vote -- choosing it here is completely optional.
